Where can I buy Chelsea Rocks products?

Our products are currently only available online via our homepage.

Are Chelsea Rocks diamonds actually diamond?

Yes, all Chelsea Rocks diamond are 100% diamond. Since Laboratory Grown Diamonds share all the molecular, chemical and optical qualities of mined diamonds, the Federal Trade Commission ruled (USA) in 2018 that they should correctly be classified as diamonds. The only difference between mined and laboratory grown diamonds is their point of provenance. Laboratory Grown Diamonds share all the fire and brilliance of mined diamonds.

Are Chelsea Rocks diamonds made of Cubic Zirconia?

No. All Chelsea Rocks diamonds are 100% diamond – the only difference to mined diamonds is that they were grown in a laboratory and not earth created. Cubic Zirconia (CZ) is technically known as a simulant – i.e., a cheap, synthetic material that imitates a diamond. Diamonds are made of carbon, whereas CZ is not.

Are Chelsea Rocks diamonds made of Moissanite?

No. All Chelsea Rocks diamonds are 100% diamond – the only difference to mined diamonds is that they were grown in a laboratory and not earth created. Moissanite or silicon carbide is a diamond imitation, not diamond.

Are Chelsea Rocks diamonds made of Swarovski crystal?

No. All Chelsea Rocks diamonds are 100% diamond – the only difference to mined diamonds is that they were grown in a laboratory and not earth created. Swarovski crystal are made from a form of man-made glass, not diamond.

How are the Chelsea Rocks Laboratory Grown Diamonds made?

Our diamonds are produced using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technology – this is one of the most sophisticated technologies used to enable the crystallisation of carbon over a diamond substrate.

In the CVD process, methane gas is activated using microwave energy to a temperature approximately to 2000-3000 F causing it to break and release carbon atoms, depositing onto a diamond substrate. This slowly grows layer by layer, atom by atom. It is a natural process of crystal growth resulting in similar kinds of inclusions and defects that occur in mined diamonds and is beyond human control once the process starts.

In terms of technical performance, the CVD technology considered to be the most sophisticated method of Laboratory Grown Diamond production. All our diamonds are certified to be carbon neutral and we support a number of tree planting initiatives in Uganda in our commitment to sustainability.

What kind of gold is used?

We use recycled gold from a source certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council in the UK.

How are the Chelsea Rocks Laboratory Grown Diamonds graded?

There are various gemmological laboratories which grade Laboratory Grown Diamonds. All Chelsea Rocks diamonds are graded by the International Gemmological Institute, (IGI) in the USA, which we regard as the world class standard in the grading of Laboratory Grown Diamonds. All Chelsea Rocks diamonds are provided with a diamond grading certificate issued by the IGI. Diamonds above 30 points (o.30 Ct) are lasered with the corresponding number as issued in the report card. More information on IGI grading of Laboratory Grown Diamonds can be found here.

Please note in the case of any returns, items must include the original report card so as not to incur an additional fee of 250 Euros.

What Laboratory Grown Diamond certificates are issued?

When you order jewellery with Chelsea Rocks, we ship it to you with the accompanying diamond grading report (also called a diamond certificate). These grading reports are detailed documents created by diamond grading experts at one of two highly respected diamond laboratories - making it very expensive to replace a diamond grading report. Because of this, we require each diamond grading report be included with each returned lab-grown diamond.

If you do not include the diamond grading report with your return, you will be charged a replacement fee of 250 Euros per missing report.

Do the diamonds carry a guarantee?

No. However, to ensure the quality of our diamonds, all Chelsea Rocks diamonds are issued with a grading certificate by the International Gemmological Institute. This vouches for the quality of the diamonds you are buying, we do not offer any other supporting documentation as a guarantee.

Integrity is the bedrock of all we do at Chelsea Rocks. From the sourcing of carbon neutral Laboratory Grown Diamonds, to overseeing sustainable manufacturing in the UK and working with suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council.

What is Chelsea Rocks doing to promote sustainability?

All Chelsea Rocks Laboratory Grown Diamonds are procured from a certified carbon neutral source. We are committed to environmentally responsible laboratory grown diamond production with the target of zero emissions. All of Chelsea Rocks diamonds are laboratory grown and seek to replace extractive mining with laboratory manufacturing to produce high quality diamonds.

We support verified carbon projects in Uganda to offset remaining emissions, such as reforestation programmes in Uganda to improve financial security to over 6,000 farmers involved in the project and benefit the local ecology. Additionally, Chelsea Rocks sources materials and suppliers who have been approved by the ethical supply chain standards upheld by The Responsible Jewellery Council and proudly manufactures in the UK using recycled gold.
